• Caulk gaps and cracks and holes as needed

• Protect flooring, fixtures, and furnishings
• Remove outlet covers and light switch covers before painting, and re-install after painting
• Fill cracks and holes in surfaces to be painted with speckling or caulk
• Patch damaged drywall and spot texture as needed
• Prime over stains
• Tape and caulk the edges as appropriate

• Wash, clean, strip and/or sand as needed depending on the condition of the wood
• Apply a saturation coat semi-transparent or semi-solid latex or oil base stain

Interior wood staining and sealing

• Fill holes and seams in the wood
• Stain the wood
• Apply two coats of clear sealer, sanding between coats
